March 20, 2017 Faribault Round 2

¡Hola mi familia y mis amigos!

This has been another great week in Minnesota.  Last P-day, one of my old companions, Hermana Rowland, came to Minnesota to visit! We got to spend the day with her catching up, and it was so much fun :)

The lovely Ashia Rowland,  She was my
companion way back in Lakeville and I love her so much!
It was hard for me to not call her Hermana but it was so fun to
see her! She is getting married in two weeks and is so happy.
I am so happy for her!

She is getting married in about 2 weeks and I am so happy for her! It is so crazy that this transfer is already over. Time is just going faster and faster. I am going to be staying here in Faribault for another transfer and I am really happy! I love this area so much; although, I am sad that Hermana Dean isn't going to be my companion anymore. But, my new companion is going to be Hermana Davis. I served around her in St. Paul and she is a gem and is sooo funny. I am really excited to be her companion :)

This next transfer is going to be great.   We had a really cool experience this week! We have a couple of colleges in our area, so we decided to go visit one of them last week! The campus was seriously so pretty and it has really cool old buildings. Anyways, while we were there we met this really cool guy from West Africa!! He was really happy to find out that we were missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He shared with us that he had a friend who he knew back in Africa who was LDS and was always very grateful for their friendship. He mentioned to us that he had a Book of Mormon once and never read it but, he would if he had one! Luckily, as missionaries we always have a Book of Mormon with us! So we gave him one and he is really excited to read it.      Abiu is going to be baptized this Saturday!!! We had some really awesome lessons with him last week and every lesson he kept asking us to count down the hours until his baptism. Yesterday, we showed him the baptismal font and he was just so happy!!! I have loved watching Abiu's testimony of the gospel grow. I LOVE teaching little kids because they just recognize truth the second they see or hear it. I know that there's a reason why the scriptures talk about how we much become like little children to enter into the Kingdom of God. I know that we are all children of Heavenly Father and that He loves us very much. I am so grateful to have been able to be here and teach Abiu more about the gospel and I am so incredibly excited for his baptism this weekend!!!

Hermana Warmbier!
She is going home in about 2 weeks
from her mission so it was nice to say one last goodbye.
She was my companion when I was in East St. Paul.

9 out of the 13 hermanas serving in Minnesota.
Because there are such a small number of  us we are all
really tight with eachother. I love them all a lot!

We had Zone conference last week up in Lakeville. It was really fun to see all of the other missionaries that I have served around and to catch up with them. There were 9 out of the 13 Hermanas (Spanish speaking sisters) there so that was fun to almost have all of us together. President Forbes gave an

amazing talk about believing that we can become like God, and I really loved it. I know that because we are all made in the image of God that we all have the potential to become like Him. I am so incredibly grateful for my parents for teaching me and loving me. I am grateful to know that I am a Child of God and that I have a divine nature to fulfill on this life. I know that each and every one of us play a very specific part in Heavenly Father's plan of Happiness. One of my favorite hymns is "O My Father" and although it is kind of long I wanted to share the lyrics.
 1. O my Father, thou that dwellest
In the high and glorious place,
When shall I regain thy presence
And again behold thy face?
In thy holy habitation,
Did my spirit once reside?
In my first primeval childhood
Was I nurtured near thy side?
2. For a wise and glorious purpose
Thou hast placed me here on earth
And withheld the recollection
Of my former friends and birth;
Yet ofttimes a secret something
Whispered, "You're a stranger here,"
And I felt that I had wandered
From a more exalted sphere.
3. I had learned to call thee Father,
Thru thy Spirit from on high,
But, until the key of knowledge
Was restored, I knew not why.
In the heav'ns are parents single?
No, the thought makes reason stare!
Truth is reason; truth eternal
Tells me I've a mother there.
4. When I leave this frail existence,
When I lay this mortal by,
Father, Mother, may I meet you
In your royal courts on high?
Then, at length, when I've completed
All you sent me forth to do,
With your mutual approbation
Let me come and dwell with you.
I know that we have a Heavenly Father and a Heavenly Mother who both love all of us so dearly. I cannot wait for the day until I can meet them again and thank them. I am so grateful for my family here on earth and I am filled with joy knowing that I can live with my family forever in the presence of God. I am so happy and I love this gospel with all of my heart!!
I love you all so much and I hope you have a wonderful week. Don't forget: Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. love you all SO much more!
Love,
Hermana Duvall

Elder McVicker, Elder Christiansen, Hermana Dean, and I!
We all went out to lunch on Friday together.
Elder McVicker had to come down for Abiu's interview,
so we went out to eat right before. They are both awesome missionaries.

This was totally not a staged picture haha.., actually it was.
But we love this family so much. The Taylor Family!
Brother Taylor is our ward mission leader and he is awesome!
We are so very grateful to have them here in our area.

 Maddie Hancock!
She is one of our favorite people to come teaching with us.
She is currently a senior in high school
but she will be headed to BYU Provo this fall.
We look forward to spending some time together at school in Utah!
